An Early Start Lasts A Lifetime
Encouraging childen to take part in sports will promote their physical fitness and mental health. In turn, a positive habit will form that lasts a lifetime. Early team sport participation promotes the mentality of "we" versus "me" from a young age. TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) sports encourage participants to learn collaborative skills used in many facets of life. At Beach Baseball Camp, we focus on the TEAM mentality, with the understanding that individual players must each do their part to enable team succeess.
Developing the 5 Tool Player...
In order to win, you've got to score! Developing a confident, consistent, and powerful hitter doesn't happen overnight. We focus on 4 main aspects of hitting: pitch selection, timing, mechanics, and mental approach. It's never too young to mold these qualities. Proper bunting techniques are underrated, so we also focus on how to approach a bunting situation.
Good defensive players control every throw in a ball game. Proper mechanics will enable our athletes to throw with accuracy, velocity, and consistency. By creating balance and coordinated movement through biomechanics and kinesiology, our athletes learn how to use their bodies to throw with minimum arm stress and maximum results. We also teach all of our players pitching principles to provide a solid foundation.
Making the routine play is what wins games... an added bonus is to make that "web gem"! Every position player needs a specific skill set to approach a batted or thrown ball. We teach glove mechanics and the importance of footwork. All of our players learn the basics of EVERY position: outfield, infield, pitcher (PFPs), and catcher. The goal is to prepare them to have a true understanding of the game in any situation they may face.
The biomechanics of running is often undervalued and overlooked in aerobic sports. There is a science to training the body and mind to create maximum output for each individual's body. Speed is essential in baseball and proper running form is paramount to success. Our experienced track coach will train our athletes using kinesiology. In addition, players will learn how to properly run bases and the secrets to successful base stealing.
Camp Highlights
Each day of camp follows a structured schedule with a slight variation in skills and drills. The morning will include a daily routine that reinforces a baseball player's "five tools" to become a better all around player: Hitting for Average, Throwing, Fielding, Running, and Hitting for Power (Strength Training). After lunch, campers will participate in scrimmages and competitions. Each day will conclude with a different guest speaker that will expand and sharpen the players' mental approach to the game.
