Meet Our Coaches
At Beach Baseball Camp, our highest priority is player safety. All of our coaches and staff are highly qualified and have been background checked. Coaches are trained and certified in American Red Cross CPR and first aid. Not only is your child well cared for but will also have the best summer learning baseball skills and fundamentals all while having fun!
Coach Malizia played college football and has coached baseball at the high school level for 11 years. He was at the helm of a baseball team that finished with an incredible perfect season. Coach Malizia was honored Nassau County "Coach of the Year" in 2022. He is focused on training individual skills and is looking forward to teaching young athletes the importance of hard work while having fun!
Coach Krywe played college baseball and has coached at the middle school and high school levels for 20 years. He earned Nassau County "Coach of the Year" in 2017 and 2022. He continuously attends clinics presented by MLB and D1 college coaches and has accumulated a plethora of baseball knowledge. Coach Krywe is excited for the opportunity to create future superstars by forming good habits at the start of their baseball careers.
Coach Scafa has an extensive baseball background. After four years of college baseball where he played in the D1 College World Series with St. John's University, he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 22nd round as a second baseman. He is excited about working with our athletes to share his knowledge and expertise.
Coach Georges ran track in college as a sprinter and has coached track at the high school level for 23 years. He has a Level 1 USATF Certification. Coach Georges led a varsity team to a county championship in 2008. He operates his own running and fitness clinic and specializes in training young athletes to learn proper running fundamentals at an early age.
Athletic Trainer, MS ATC/L
Mr. Tobia has worked as an athletic trainer both at the college level and with a private physical therapy practice for 18 years. He also worked as an athletic trainer at the Jr. NBA basketball tournament and Empire State Games. Mr. Tobia is licensed with the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
Coach Rodriguez played college baseball in which his team placed 3rd in the D2 College World Series with St. Thomas Aquinas. He also played for SUNY Ulster and his team was a Regional Champion. Coach Rodriguez is now a volunteer high school baseball assistant coach. He is most excited about seeing the athletes happy while improving their skills in the sport he loves.
Coach Bory played D3 college baseball at Union College. He has an extensive knowledge as a pitcher and trained under the tutelage of Tom House who is a world renowned expert of the biomechanics of pitching. Tom House has trained Tom Brady, Nolan Ryan, and Randy Johnson. Chris earned the National Pitching Program certification from Tom and shares this knowledge with our campers at Beach Baseball Camp.
Coach Horgan played 4 years of D1 collegiate soccer at Clemson University where she was a captain and helped win an ACC regular season championship. She played on the U-19 Women's United States National team which earned an undefeated record. She also played on the United States National U-20 World Cup Qualifying Championship team.
Coach Lavelle was a multiple sport D3 college athlete playing both baseball and basketball at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He was a member of a collegiate baseball MSCAC All-Sportsmanship team in 2019. Coach Lavelle now works for the New York Yankees in guest relations. He enjoys coaching and looks forward to sharing his knowledge with the campers.
